Who is the data controller
The data controller for this site is the Regional Governor's Office, Republic of Namibia. Data is processed in accordance with applicable Namibian data protection law.
What information we collect
When you submit an NYDF application we collect: your name, national identification number, phone number, email address, region of residence, business details, and the funding information you provide. We use a session cookie to remember a draft application on your device. If you submit a fraud report, we collect your report description and, optionally, your name and email address, along with the IP address from which the report was submitted.
Lawful basis
Personal information is collected and processed on the lawful basis of the performance of a public task — specifically, the administration of national youth development and related programmes coordinated through the Regional Governor's Office.
How long we keep your information
Application records are retained for a minimum of seven years in line with public records management requirements. Draft applications not submitted are retained for ninety days and then purged. Fraud reports are retained for as long as is necessary to conduct any resulting investigation.
Who we share information with
Applications are shared with implementing agencies — the Development Bank of Namibia, the Environmental Investment Fund, and Agribank — where a referral is made following triage. We do not sell or share personal information with any third party for marketing purposes.
Your rights
Subject to statutory retention requirements, you have the right to request access to your information, correction of inaccuracies, and erasure where the information is no longer required. Requests under the Access to Information Act 8 of 2022 may be made to the Regional Governor's Office.
Contact
To exercise any right above, or to raise a concern about how your information is handled, contact your nearest Regional Governor's Office.
