Regional Governor's Office

The Regional Governor is the President's representative in each of Namibia's fourteen regions — a coordination, intake and delivery point for national programmes in regional communities.

Mandate

The Regional Governor coordinates the implementation of national policy at regional level, chairs the Regional Development Coordinating Committee, and represents the central government in engagements with regional councils, traditional authorities, and communities.

Fourteen regions, one coordinated office

From //Kharas in the south to Zambezi in the north-east, each region has its own Governor's Office — staffed to receive applications, coordinate programme intake, and route enquiries to the appropriate implementing agency. See all fourteen offices for contact details.

Programmes we coordinate

Flagship programmes currently routed through the Regional Governor's Office include the Namibia Youth Development Fund, the Equipment Aid Scheme, the Rural Connectivity Programme, and the Drought Relief Programme.

We triage — implementing agencies decide

On programmes where an implementing agency holds the mandate (the Development Bank of Namibia, the Environmental Investment Fund, and Agribank for the NYDF, among others), the Governor's Office performs frontline intake and triage only. Final approval or rejection of an application rests with the implementing agency.
